See
Me Move
! included
in 'The Advertiser Little Big Book Club ' free reading
pack for 2008! |
In 2007 a manuscript and visual storyboard I submitted
to the Advertiser Little Big Book Club program,, called
'See Me Move!' was chosen as the winning entry from over 40 unpublished
entries. The outcome of this is that See Me Move! has
now been published and released in a free reading pack aimed
to reach all new babies in South Australia in 2008! Books published
in the free reading packs, are aimed to particularly appeal to
children aged 0-12 months.
The Advertiser Little Big Book Club is a SA
based reading program designed to encourage the parents to read
to their children as early as possible, and recognise the value
of deveoloping literacy skills in young children. The LBBC,
commissions the work for the reading pack, and is supported
by the Government of South Australia through Arts SA, The State
Library, through its Public Library Services and Public Libraries
of South Ausralia with the support of Local Government.
See Me Move! published by Adelaide publisher,
Working Title Press, is a book all about babies on the
move! And as all parents know, once a baby starts to moves, they
never want to stop! The story was inspired by my nephew, who
Ive seen develop from a wriggly newborn to a busy toddler!
Heidi Linehan, the photographer for the book, has
done a superb job photographing all of the babies! Thankyou!
(Despite the hazards of working with children or animals!) And
the parents and babies have been great too!

'See Me Move!' with my nephew.
Released in February 2008, See Me Move! the
book bag was available free in 2008, to SA Families with babies
aged between 6-12 months.
From February 2009 See Me Move! will be released
nationally and available for purchase in all good book shops.

~ were a great success! |
|
In the week of 3-7th March,
the City of Charles Sturt Library Service ran a daily disco storytime
to celebrate the release of the Little Big Book Club book and
bag for 2008! See Me Move!
Discos for babies and toddlers
were held at Hindmarsh, West Lakes, Civic, Henley and Findon
and were a hit! Each day drawing crowds of up to 85 groovin'and
wigglin' mums and dads, grandparents, carers and babies !
It was wonderful to have so
many families attend each day - and celebrate a book (which is
